The building, located to the east of Haşimiye Square, was built as a Mevlevihane for the Mevlevi of Urfa in the 18th century. After the closure of the dervish lodges, the building was opened for worship as a mosque. The building was restored by the General Directorate of Foundations. The mosque has a square plan and is covered with a single dome. The bazaar adjacent to the western façade of the building was previously a butcher's bazaar, but has been turned into a place where souvenirs were sold.
