A notice states the mosque is supposed to have been built in the 12th century during the reign of the Danishmends. It was repaired in 1678 during the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet, the Hunter.
That is Mehmet IV, who lived 1642-1693 and reigned 8 August 1648 – 8 November 1687.
